Shumon Zaman, Chief Information and Digital Officer, Ali and Sons Holding explains to Arun Shankar, GEC Media Group's Editor, that large conglomerates have old business embedded inside legacy applications. In order to take advantage of digital transformation you have to move to a cloud platform rather than being on-premises, and this allows growth and agility as the business expands. The main pain points are understanding your business and its critical success factors while moving from one platform to another. Legacy applications have a lot of customisations embedded in them and a lot of things that people are used to, that they are not used to when you go to a new platform. So, the major challenge is architecture, moving from old to the new. The most critical is people and change management. People do not like change no matter what they say. Watch the full video below:
