Abu Dhabi National Foodstuff Company (Foodco)
"The Good Taste of Life"
Foodco was established in Abu Dhabi in 1979 as the Abu Dhabi National Foodstuff Company,
during an era blessed with the inflow of oil wealth and subsequent all-round progress. The
company was formed as a public shareholding entity under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh
Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE.
While it’s original mission was to source high quality foodstuffs and make them available to all at
competitive prices as a food wholesaler and distributor, it then diversified into the complementary
areas of packaging and retailing and became a major importer and exporter of quality foodstuffs
and services throughout the Arabian Gulf.
As a result of major restructuring in 2003 the complementary activities were spun off into
standalone companies and Foodco LLC has returned to its original strengths.
Today, the company has a capital of more than 100 million UAE dirhams. Foodco’s house brands
include Virginia, Mubarak Basmati Rice, Foodco HK, Shehrazade Premium Basmati Rice and edible
oils, Quick Tea, F Tissues, F Classic, Wrap ‘n’ Roll Aluminum Foil, Golden Gate Thai Jasmine Rice,
Al Safwa evaporated milk, Master Food and Master Chef range of food products, among others.
The company is also the sole agent for major international brands, such as Pasta Zara, Taj Mahal
Saffron, Languiru Chicken, and Orlando Vine Leaves.

of services.
